Tuition is a huge factor when it comes to choosing a college - but hopefully, financial aid and scholarships can support the cost. That's why we created the list of Big Money Scholarships for College. We're talking about tens of thousands of dollars in free money!

* Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation // Organization: Coca-Cola

Amount: $20,000

Deadline: October 31st, 2020

The Coca-Cola Scholars Program scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. The 2021 program will sometime this summer with an October 31, 2020 deadline. 

1. Frederick Douglas Bicentennial Scholarship 2020 // Organization: UNCF

Amount: $10,000

Deadline: October 28, 2020

The program awards one (1) $10,000 scholarship to an exceptional HBCU senior each year who has demonstrated high academic achievement, strong leadership skills, commitment to community service, and unmet financial need. Details to apply here. 

2. Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholarship // Organization: Jack Kent Cooke

Amount: Up to $40,000

Deadline: October 30th, 2020

Coming from a low-income family can be hard. That’s why the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation scholarship gives up-to $40,000 to each of its scholars. In order to apply for this scholarship, you have to demonstrate both academic excellence and financial need. In addition to that, you have to fill out several eligibility questions, submit a few short essays that answer specific prompts, and declare your college plans and intended major. That sounds like a lot, and it is. But $40,000 per year practically covers the tuition of most colleges and it’s entirely worth it.

3. Scholarship 4 Moms // Organization: Scholarship 4 moms

Amount: $10,000

Deadline: October 15th, 2020

Every quarter Scholarship 4 Moms is giving away $10,000 for mothers wishing to go back or currently enrolled in college. 

4. Horatio Alger National Scholarship Program // Organization: Horatio Alger Members

Amount: $25,000

Deadline: October 25th, 2020

The Horatio Alger National Scholarship Program is one of the major scholarship programs nationally that specifically assists high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. 

5. Davidson Fellow Scholarship // Organization: Davidson Institute

Amount: Up to $50,000

Deadline: February 10th, 2021

Are you extraordinary? If so, the Davidson Fellow Scholarship is interested in you. Since its inception, the Davidson Fellow Scholarship has given out $7.4 million in scholarship money to students under the age of 18 who show extraordinary accomplishments in a particular field, whether it’s science, math, music, literature, or technology. Every year, they select three winners who qualify to win $50,000, $25,000 and $10,000 for first, second, and third prize selections respectively.

6. Honda Corporate Stem Scholarship // Organization: UNCF

Amount: Up to $5,000

Deadline: October 5, 2020

Honda has partnered with UNCF to establish the Honda Corporate Scholarship Stem Scholarship to support students enrolled at a Historically Black College or University, and studying a designated STEM field. Learn More Here.

7. Google Scholarships // Organization: Google

Amount: Up to $10,000

Deadline: Varies

This past year Google has hosted a few scholarships which include the Generation Google Scholarship, Google Lime Scholarship, and more. The 2020 Google Scholarship deadlines have passed, new Google Scholarships will be opening in Fall 2020.

8. Seattle Marketing's $5,000 Scholarship // Organization: Seattle Marketing

Amount: $5,000

Deadline: September 30th, 2020

What's been the biggest challenge you've ever had to face? Write a 1000-1500 word essay explaining the hardships that you've overcome and submit proof of enrollment that you are currently attending or will attend a post-secondary institution. One individual will be selected to receive $5,000 for school!

9. Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship Program // Organization: Amazon

Amount: $10,000

Deadline: Application opens in November 2020

10. Foot Locker Scholar Athletes // Organization: Foot Locker

Amount: $20,000

Deadline: Opens October 2020

The Foot Locker Scholar Athletes program celebrates athletes that have grown into strong leaders at their schools and communities in addition to their sport. The 2021 program will open in October 2020.

11. McDonald's HACER National Scholarship // Organization: McDonald's

Amount: $100,000 ($25,000 over 4 years)

Deadline: Opens October 5th, 2020

Your generation is making a difference in the world, and McDonald's is looking to help students of Hispanic descent be part of that change. McDonald's is offering $100,000 in scholarships to high school seniors of Hispanic descent and showcase academic achievements, leadership, community involvement, financial need, and more! 

12. GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program // Organization: GE-Reagan Foundation

Amount: $10,000

Deadline: Opens Fall 2020

Honoring the legacy and character of our nation’s 40th President, the GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program rewards college-bound students who demonstrate exemplary leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship with financial assistance to pursue higher education. This scholarship is also renewable for up to 3 years, meaning you can get a total of $40,000 in scholarships and continued leadership development support.

13. US Bank Scholarship // Organization: US Bank

Amount: Up to $20,000

Deadline: October 30, 2020

Complete financial education lessons to be entered to win up to $20,000 in scholarships. Lessons include financial literacy topics like managing student loans and creating a budget. Learn more here

14. Dell Scholars Program // Organization: Dell

Amount: $20,000

Deadline: December 10th, 2020

The Dell Scholars Program is designed to provide a support system for the challenges many students face while pursuing a degree. 500 Dell Scholars are selected each year to receive a $20,000 scholarship and non-monetary support. The scholarship criteria include demonstrating a need for financial assistance, have participated in a program-approved college readiness program in grades 11 and 12, and more. 15. College Board Opportunity Scholarships for Class of 2021 // Organization: College Board

Amount: Up to $40,000

Deadline: February 28, 2021

16. Burger King McLamore Foundation Scholarship // Organization: Burger King

Amount: Up to $50,000

Deadline: December 18, 2020

The Burger King McLamore Foundation is offering a ton of scholarships to students who will be registered as full-time students. These students must demonstrate work-ethic, merit, and leadership. 

17. Scholarship America Dream Award // Organization: Scholarship America

Amount: Up to $15,000

Deadline: October 15th, 2020

Scholarship America is offering an award to students who demonstrate financial need as well as a history of overcoming barriers to be successful at school. Submit an essay of your personal goals as well as any unusual personal or family circumstances that served as barriers to school success. This scholarship is also renewable for up to three years!
