This scholarship is available to Latinx high school seniors who need assistance paying for college. Must be planning to study Engineering, Computer Science, or Business in college. Must have a high school GPA of 3.0 and higher. DACA recipients are eligible to apply.

McDonald's Black And Positively Golden Scholarship // Thurgood Marshall College Fund

Amount: Up to $15,000

Deadline: March 27, 2023

This scholarship is available to full-time undergraduate college students attending an HBCU during the 2023-2024 school year. Must have a GPA of 2.7 and higher and be able to demonstrate financial need.

National Scholarship // National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Clubs

This scholarship is open to African American high school seniors who have a GPA of 3.0 and above and submit a typed essay of no less than 300 words on the topic: “Explain the Benefits You Have Gained through the Contributions of Two (2) Trailblazers of African Descent within the past twenty (20) years, and How It Has Benefited You as a Person.”

LoadView Women in Computing Scholarship // Access Scholarships

Amount: $1,000

Deadline: April 1, 2023

This scholarship is open to female students currently enrolled as full-time undergraduate students in the U.S. or Canada. Must be planning to pursue a degree/career in computing. Essay required with application. 

Our Turn Scholarships // Our Turn

Amount: $500

Deadline: April 17, 2023

Any full- or part-time students between the ages of 16-25 are eligible to apply for this scholarship. There are two scholarships available; The Community Scholarship is for students already active in the Our Turn network, and The Equity Scholarship is for students that are new to Our Turn. Must write short essays answering Our Turn's prompts to be considered. 

Christopher Nohl Scholarship for Diverse Backgrounds // Christopher Nohl

Amount: $1,000

Deadline: July 15, 2023

This scholarship is available for students in the United States who are currently enrolled in a University or High School, and have plans to attend a University. The scholarship is meant to help a deserving student with scholarship funding who wishes to start their own business in the future.

Fight for Freedom Scholarship //J. Ryan Brown Law

Amount: $1,000

Deadline: July 31, 2023

Graduating high school seniors and college students are eligible for this scholarship. To be considered, applicants must write a 700-1,000 word-essay to answer the following prompt: "Share with us a bit of legislation or regulation that has been a recent controversial topic. Explain why you feel this piece of legislation or law should either be abolished or kept in place. We want to hear how this piece of legislation has personally impacted you."

Dennis Etchison Young Writers Scholarship // Horror Writers Association

Amount: $500

Deadline: August 1, 2023

This award is available to high school students that are interested in writing horror and dark fiction. Applicants must provide a selection of their work (at least 1 completed short story over 1,000 words, 3 chapters from a novel in progress, or 4 poems), at least one letter of reference by their instructor(s), and a description of their goals with an education plan for use of the award.

Alex Austin’s Overcoming Adversity Scholarship // Access Scholarships Foundation

Amount: $500 – $1,000 for multiple recipients

Deadline: September 1, 2023

This scholarship is for students that have overcome hardship throughout their lives. High school and undergraduate students of all years are encouraged to apply.

Be the Boss Scholarship // GoSkills

Amount: $2,000

Deadline: September 15, 2023

This scholarship was created for a female student who wants to start her own online business. Financial need and academic performance will not be considered when applying. 

Sweet and Simple Scholarship // Unigo

Amount: $1,500

Getting gifts is always fun, but a gift doesn't always have to be extravagant to make you happy. Sometimes, it's just the sweet and simple things that work best. Are you bold? Bold doesn't just mean "best" or "most accomplished." If you are earnest, determined, and moving, make an account with and show them how bold you can be. The scholarship will be awarded to the student whose profile is most bold, according to these characteristics.

The DeDe McGuire Foundation Scholarship // The DeDe McGuire Foundation

Applicants to this scholarship must be current or incoming students at an HBCU. Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 and be able to provide current enrollment information, student ID, program of study, financial aid office and registrars office information for current enrollment verification.

The Southwest Airlines Scholarship // Silicon Valley Community Foundation

Amount: Up to $5,000

Deadline: February 28, 2023

This scholarship is available to students at trade/vocational schools and 2- and 4-year colleges and universities. Applicants must express interest in a career in the airline industry. Special consideration is given to applicants who identify as black, Indigenous, or people of color (BIPOC), are first-generation college students, and are eligible for the Federal Pell Grant.

The scholarship is open to high school students who plan to pursue a degree in computer science, electrical engineering or data science. You must also be a member of an underrepresented group, including: Black or African American, Hispanic or Latinx, American Indian or Native American, LGBTQA+, and Women. Must write an essay of 200 words or more answering this prompt: "What area of tech are you interested in studying and why? Tell us about a problem that you hope to solve by way of your future education and career in tech."

This scholarship is available to full time college undergraduate students across any field of study.
