SOULE Foundation Scholarships // The SOULE Foundation

Amount: Up to $5,000

Deadline: Rolling deadline

LGBTQ youth and young adults of color are eligible for a SOULE Foundation scholarship. Must have a high school GPA 2.5 and be enrolled at a U.S. located, accredited college or university as a full-time student.

Little Bird Scholarship // Stonewall Foundation

Amount: $18,000 between two years

Deadline: Application opens spring 2023

To qualify for this scholarship, students must be immigrants who are planning on attending college in New York City. Rising Juniors and Seniors are also welcome to apply.

Scholarships // ACORN Equality Fund

Amount: $1,000-$4,000

Deadline: Applications open May 2023

To be eligible, applicants must retain permanent residence in the Acorn Equality Fund service area of downstate Illinois (all Illinois counties except Cook, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, and Will) and attend any accredited, post-secondary educational institution.

Charlotte Pride Scholarship // Charlotte Pride

Amount: Up to $10,000

Deadline: June 2, 2023

High school seniors and current college undergraduates in the Charlotte metro area can apply. Students must submit their SAT/ACT scores, have a 3.0 GPA or higher, and have demonstrated service to the LGBTQ+ community. Applicants must write one essay of 500-800 words or submit one piece (or more) of original artwork.

Traub-Dicker Rainbow Scholarship // Stonewall Foundation

Amount: $4,000

Deadline: June 2, 2023

This program provides scholarships to lesbian-identifying women who will be attending college in the U.S. this fall. Submissions are judged on academic achievement, community service and leadership, and commitment to impacting LGBTQ issues.

Scholarships // Prism Foundation

Amount: $1,000-$5,000

Deadline: June 30, 2023

Prism Foundation provides scholarships to empower students who are making a positive impact on the Asian & Pacific Islander and LGBTQ+ communities. Students who attend college and trade/vocational schools are eligible to apply. Non-U.S. citizens are welcome to apply.

Scholarships // Out to Innovate

Amount: $2,000-$5,000

Deadline: June 2023

These scholarships are available to LGBTQ+ students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) programs. Students must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.75 and have successfully completed a minimum of two years at a college or university.

Pride Foundation Scholarships // Pride Foundation

Amount: Varies

Deadline: Applications open October 11, 2023

Pride Foundation's Scholarships are open to students who live in the Northwest (Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, or Washington) and are planning to enroll in any kind of postsecondary education during the 2022-2023 school year.

Flagship Scholarship // Point Foundation

Amount: Varies

Deadline: December 21, 2023

LGBTQ+ students with a proven track record of leadership and community involvement as well as academic excellence are eligible for this scholarship. While this scholarship is only available to students enrolled in a four-year university, Point Foundation also offers community college scholarships.

Community College Scholarship // Point Foundation

Amount: $4,800; renewable for up to two years

Deadline: January 9, 2024

This scholarship is dedicated to students in community college who plan to pursue their passions after completing community college or transfer to a four-year university. Scholarship recipients will receive a financial scholarship each year of their community college experience as well as coaching, plus admissions counseling for students wanting to transfer to a university.

The Samara Fund // The Vermont Community Foundation

Amount: $750-$1,000

Deadline: Varies

This scholarship awards Vermont high school students who demonstrate a commitment to LGBTQ+ matters. Email [email protected] to request an application.

PFLAG Scholarships // PFLAG

Amount: Varies

Deadline: Varies

Leroy F. Aarons Scholarship // The Association of LGBTQ Journalists

Amount: Up to $5,000

Deadline: May 19, 2023

Applicants must be planning to pursue a career in journalism, be able to demonstrate their passion and commitment to the profession. Selection will be based on journalistic and scholastic ability. Applicants also must demonstrate an awareness of the issues facing the LGBTQ community and the importance of fair and accurate news coverage.

The Aritzia Scholarship // Stonewall Foundation

Amount: $5,000

Deadline: May 5, 2023

To be eligible, you must identify as LGBTQIA+, be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate school, and plan to study in a fashion field (fashion design, retail management, etc.).

New York Ramblers Scholarship // New York Ramblers Soccer

Amount: $2,500

Deadline: May 1, 2023

This scholarship is for undergraduate student athletes who are members or allies of the LGBTQ+ community. Applicants for the scholarship are reviewed based on financial need, leadership in sports, LGBTQIA2S+ advocacy, academic excellence, and potential for impact based on their future goals.

Amount: $1,000

Deadline: May 1, 2023

LGBTQIA students who are accepted to or enrolled in a college or university in the U.S. are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Financial need will not be considered.

Richard V. Hotson, Jr. and Stephen L. Teller Scholarship for LGBTQ+ Students // National Council of Jewish Women - Los Angeles

Amount: $2,000

Deadline: April 15, 2023

Applicants must identify as LGBTQ+ and be enrolled full-time in an accredited institution in the Greater Los Angeles area or at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Must provide personal statement and two letters of recommendation when applying.

LEAGUE Foundation Scholarships // LEAGUE Foundation

Amount: Varies

Deadline: April 14, 2023

High school seniors who are LGBTQIA+ identifying are eligible for this scholarship. Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, significant involvement in community service, and an acceptance to a 2 or 4-year university in the United States.

Audria M. Edwards Scholarship // Peacock Productions

Amount: Varies

Deadline: April 1, 2023

Oregon residents and residents of certain Washington counties are eligible to apply. To apply, print out your required essay, two letters of recommendation, and your transcripts, and mail them to the company’s P.O. box.

Davis-Putter Scholarship // Davis-Putter Scholarship Fund

Amount: Varies

Deadline: March 31, 2023

Applicants must write a 1,000 word essay about their experience with progressive social activity, as well as their long-term goals and how they plan to achieve them. A complete application, letters of recommendation, transcripts, and a completed FAFSA must also be submitted.

The Ronald P. Wilmot Scholarship // Jewish Community Federation & Endowment Fund

Amount: $2,000

Deadline: March 31, 2023

Jewish students with a gay or lesbian parent in the greater San Francisco Bay Area can apply for this scholarship.

Pfund Foundation Scholarship // Pfund

Amount: Varies; from $1,000 to $12,000

Deadline: March 12-26, 2023

LGBTQIA-identifying individuals living in Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin pursuing a 2 or 4-year degree are eligible for this scholarship.

Team DC Scholarships // Team DC

Amount: $2,000

Deadline: March 3, 2023

This scholarship is available to self-identified members of the LGBTQIA+ community who are student-athletes. Must live in the DC area to be considered.

Out For Education Scholarship // Out For Education

Amount: Varies; From $1,000 to $10,000

Deadline: February 28, 2023

LGBTQIA+ students living or attending school (high school or college) in the Houston, TX area are eligible for this scholarship. Applicants must submit physical copies of their transcripts and two letters of recommendation to be considered.

LIVE OUT LOUD Young Trailblazers Scholarship // Live Out Loud

Amount: $5,000

Deadline: February 27, 2023

High School Seniors from the Tri-State area (New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut), who identify as LGBTQ+ can apply. This scholarship can be used to fund technical and vocational programs in addition to colleges and universities.

Great Lakes Bay Pride Scholarship // Saginaw Community Foundation

Amount: Varies

Deadline: February 10, 2023

This scholarship is available to LGBTQ+ students in Michigan who “has demonstrated a passion for promoting mutual respect and acceptance for all through engagement with diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.”

eQuality Scholarship // eQuality Scholarship Collaborative

Amount: $6,000

Deadline: January 31, 2023

These scholarships are available to students who are residents of Northern or Central California (but may study elsewhere) who have demonstrated service in the LGBTQ+ community.

The 49 Fund // One Pulse Foundation

Amount: Varies

Deadline: January 31, 2023

Every year, the One Pulse Foundation gives 49 scholarships to honor the 49 people killed in the Pulse Nightclub Shooting. Each scholarship given reflects the passions and interests of each of the victims. Applicants must be members of the LGBTQ+ community who are from Orange, Seminole, Volusia, Lake, Sumter, or Brevard Counties in the State of Florida.

Amount: $2,500 (awarded annually)

Deadline: December 31, 2022

Applicants must be U.S. citizens who identify as transgender or nonbinary and plan to pursue a college degree.

Pedro Zamora Young Leaders Scholarship // National Aids Memorial

Amount: Varies

Deadline: July 15, 2022

This scholarship is available to all current high school seniors, and college freshman, sophomores and juniors (ages 27 and younger) who demonstrate an active commitment to fighting HIV/AIDS and taking on roles of public service and leadership.

Pride Center Scholarship Fund // New Haven Pride Center

Amount: $1,000-$2,500

Deadline: June 1, 2022

The New Haven Pride Center offers multiple scholarships to LGBTQ+ students in the state of Connecticut that are enrolled in an accredited vocational, undergraduate or graduate program in Connecticut leading to a degree, certificate, license, or diploma in their field for the 2022-23 academic year.

APIQWTC Scholarship // APIQWTC

Amount: $2,500

Deadline: February 14, 2022

This scholarship will be awarded to two Asian/Pacific Islander lesbian, bisexual, transgender, or queer individuals living in the Bay Area and pursuing technical or trades certification.
