Alabama
Cash for College by Alabama Possible offers Alabamians free FAFSA help and support. Reach out by calling (334) 316-6155 or emailing [email protected].
Alaska
Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education (ACPE) offers free FAFSA support to students and families by hosting FAFSA Wednesdays every week from 3-6 pm over Zoom. If you are unable to make FAFSA Wednesdays, ACPE also offers individual FAFSA help. Click here to make an appointment or call (800) 441-2962 opt #4.
Arizona
Benji, Arizona's virtual FAFSA assistant, can answer questions to help you complete and submit the FAFSA. Text "Hi Benji" to (602) 786-8171 to begin.
Students can also sign up for one-on-one FAFSA assistance over Zoom (both in English and Spanish) from the Arizona FAFSA Coalition.
Additionally, students can call the Arizona FAFSA Hotline, which is open Monday-Friday, 9 am-3pm. Call 1-833-AZFAFSA for assistance in English, and 1-833-MIFAFSA for assistance in Spanish.
Arkansas
Arkansas Student Loan Authority has free resources and tips to support students applying for the FAFSA and Arkansas State Aid. Questions? Call (800)-443-6030 or email [email protected].
California
Cash for College California offers free virtual and in-person workshops across the state to help students and families complete their FAFSA, California Dream Act (CADAA), or Chafee Grant for Foster Youth applications. Workshops are held from October 1-June 30, annually.
Colorado
Colorado's Department of Higher Education offers free digital resources to help students and families complete the FAFSA and learn about scholarships and other forms of financial aid.
Connecticut
FAFSA Connecticut is offering virtual FSA ID creation workshops in November and December 2023, and FAFSA workshops beginning in December 2023. Must register online to attend.
Delaware
Stand By Me's College Funding Project offers virtual FSA ID creation appointments and, beginning January 2024, in-person FAFSA completion workshops at participating public high schools. Scroll down and click "Register for upcoming events" to secure your appointment(s).
Florida
Florida College Access Network offers free digital FAFSA completion resources, as well as resources to help you understand your other financial aid options.
Georgia
Georgia Student Finance Commission offers in-person trainings, workshops, and information sessions across the state to help students and their families plan for college. Use their calendar to find a FAFSA completion or financial aid event near you. Additionally, they also offer free virtual FAFSA resources for students and parents.
Hawaii
College is Within Reach Hawaii offers virtual financial aid workshops on Wednesdays from 6-7:30 pm.
Additionally, you can email [email protected] and a FAFSA specialist from the University of Hawaii system will answer your questions.
Idaho
Next Steps Idaho has free online resources that help students understand both how to complete the FAFSA and what happens after they submit it.
Illinois
Illinois Student Assistance Commission offers free financial aid presentations and FSA ID workshops in English and Spanish across the state. Just enter your zip code to find an event near you! Additionally, you can get one-on-one assistance with college planning and financial aid from the ISACorps member in your area.
Indiana
Through Learn More Indiana, you can complete the FAFSA Affirmation Form, which will allow you to receive step-by-step FAFSA help from an Indiana-based FAFSA specialist.
Iowa
FAFSA Ready Iowa offers step-by-step FAFSA events over Zoom and one-on-one appointments in-person and over Zoom.
Kansas
Kansas Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators has an ultimate FAQ list to answer your FAFSA-related questions.
Kentucky
Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA) has a free online FAFSA Completion Guide to make FAFSA completion simpler.
Louisiana
Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance (LOSFA) holds virtual office hours from 9am-3pm, Monday-Friday to help answer student and parent questions about completing the FAFSA. If you are not at least 18 years old, a parental consent form will need to be submitted before attending.

Maine
The Finance Authority of Maine (FAME) holds financial aid and FAFSA help sessions both in-person and virtually. Find upcoming events here.
Maryland
Maryland's Higher Education Commission has a free video series on their YouTube channel walking students through financial aid and how to apply for it.
Massachusetts
MassEdCo offers one-on-one assistance– both virtually and in-person– to students completing the FAFSA. Enter your zip code to find a MassEdCo near you and to make an appointment.
Michigan
MI Student Aid offers virtual financial aid presentations to students and families.
Minnesota
Minnesota Goes to College offers Zoom sessions to help students and families understand the FAFSA and their other financial aid options.
Mississippi
Book an appointment through Get2College to ask questions you have about planning and paying for college. In-person and virtual appointments can be made through one of Get2College’s in-person locations or by calling (662) 349-2789 or (228) 875-4441.
Missouri
FAFSA Frenzy by Journey to College helps Missouri students complete the FAFSA every year.
Montana
Reach Higher Montana has lots of free resources to support students completing their FAFSA and weighing their college financial aid options.
Nebraska
Beginning January 2024, EducationQuest Foundation will take appointments to help students complete the FAFSA.
Nevada
Once the Better FAFSA is released in December 2023, Apply Nevada will make events to assist students and families in completing it.
New Hampshire
New Hampshire Higher Education Assistance Foundation's Center for College Planning offers free in-person and virtual FAFSA completion appointments.
New Jersey
New Jersey's Higher Education Student Assistance Authority has great free resources for students in every step of the college application process– resources to help them plan for college, complete the FAFSA, find and apply for scholarships, and more.
New Mexico
New Mexico Educational Assistance Foundation (NMEAF) has helpful FAFSA guides and presentations to assist you in completing the FAFSA.
New York
Brooklyn College created a 24/7 virtual financial aid workshop on YouTube to allow students to fill out their FAFSA at their own pace.
North Carolina
College Foundation of North Carolina offers video resources to help students and families understand and complete the FAFSA. They also have an interactive map that helps you find a financial aid professional near you.
North Dakota
Bank of North Dakota offers free resources and videos to help students and parents complete the FAFSA.
Ohio
Once the Better FAFSA is released in December 2023, the Ohio Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators will post resources to help students complete it.
Oklahoma
Startwithfafsa.org has tons of great free FAFSA-related resources: flyers, PowerPoint presentations, online modules, and more!
Oregon
Oregon Goes to College offers lots of financial aid information and resources for students, including what they need to know about completing the FAFSA.
Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency and Pennsylvania Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators conduct free FAFSA completion events from October-April annually. Additionally, they hold virtual financial aid webinars.
Rhode Island
The Rhode Island Student Loan Authority (RISLA) College Planning Center offers free FAFSA completion appointments. Both parents and students must be present. Must create an account to schedule an appointment.
South Carolina
College Goal SC has free FAFSA workshops across the state for parents and families.
South Dakota
Mapping Your Future has free resources on a variety of topics surrounding financial aid– creating your FSA ID, completing the FAFSA, finding scholarships, and more.
Tennessee
College for TN offers free FAFSA events, videos, and webinars.
Texas
College For All Texans offers over-the-phone support to students completing the FAFSA. Call 1-(888)-311-8881 to begin.
Utah
Keys to Success Utah has resources to help students understand the different ways they can pay for college.
Vermont
Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC) holds in-person and virtual FSA ID and FAFSA completion workshops.
Virginia
College Access Fairfax offers free webinars to high school seniors to learn more about paying for college and completing the FAFSA. Additionally, they have a library of resources on topics like scholarships, understanding your financial aid award letters, and more.
Washington
College Success Foundation has a virtual presentation and handouts to help students and families complete the FAFSA.

West Virginia
College for West Virginia offers free FAFSA completion workshops across the state.

College Goal Wisconsin will offer free FAFSA completion events beginning in January 2024.
