Learning how to budget today will set you up for success tomorrow! Here are 4 free apps to help you manage your finances. Just download the apps on your smartphone, create your accounts, and start budgeting!
GoodBudget
GoodBudget is a simple but effective app that helps you stay on top of your finances. You can use it to log your income and sort your monthly expenses into “envelopes” to prevent you from overspending. When you’re ready to pay for your expenses, like rent or groceries, just pull from the envelopes!
Mint
Are you one of those people who actually pays for their own Netflix or Spotify subscriptions? Mint is great for keeping track of your monthly expenses, like subscriptions and more! Link your bank accounts to Mint, and it will send your phone push notifications to remind you to pay your bills a few days before they’re due to avoid late fees. Wally
If you’re a little skeptical about linking your bank information to an app, Wally might be for you. You can enter in your expenses for the month, and the app will send you push notifications when it’s time to pay for them. You can also use different currencies on Wally, meaning this is a great choice for international students looking to budget!

PocketGuard shows your finances in a simple pie chart view so to show you where most of your money goes every month. It sets aside money to spend on whatever you want (or save!) after you pay your monthly expenses. You can also categorize your expenses by hashtags! For example, if you go get a latte from Starbucks, you can enter the payment as #coffee in the app. 😎
