Need a Seasonal Job? Here’s Who’s Hiring This Holiday Season

Here’s the reality. Seasonal jobs and hiring might look a bit different this year due to the pandemic, but that doesn’t mean companies aren't hiring. In fact, several employers have ramped up their recruiting efforts and are looking to fill their in-demand seasonal roles. Check out this list of companies who are hiring for seasonal positions this holiday season.
From customer service roles, to online order fulfillment, Target has more than 130,000 seasonal positions available. What’s great is that Target has bumped up their hourly wage to $15/hour, and may be higher in select cities and locations. In addition to competitive pay, seasonal employees will receive:
- 10% employee discount (plus an extra 20% discount on wellness items)
- Flexible scheduling
- Free mental health support
- Free virtual doctor visits
Gap Inc., the parent company of Gap, Old Navy, and Banana Republic, is hiring for positions in their stores, distribution centers, and customer service centers. They are hosting a series of virtual hiring events to help fill the roles quickly. All they ask is for you to apply to the job you want before attending the virtual event. The application takes less than 3 minutes to complete. Seasonal employees will receive perks as well, such as:
- 50% discount for all of their brands
- Competitive pay
- Unique wellness options, such as on-site flu shots and back-up child care and daycare service.
Amazon is hiring for tens of thousands during the holiday season. There are three specific roles they need to fill asap: (1) package sorter and loader (2) warehouse, (3) as a store shopper. If you are looking for a flexible schedule, fast-paced environment, and a competitive wage, check out their list of opportunities to find a position near you. They are so eager to hire that they are even offering signing bonuses up to $3,000 in select locations (just be sure to read the fine-print).
Best Buy is hiring part-time and full-time seasonal employees in their stores and distribution centers. Some of the customer service positions (such as cashier and customer experience specialists) hire at 16 years old, but other positions may require you to be 18 years or older.
FedEx has a list of critical openings available for seasonal and permanent positions. If you have an interest in customer service or supply chain management (a great career path), below are a few jobs at FedEx you should look into. Most positions will start at $15/hr and you must be 18 or older to apply.

1-800 Flowers is looking to deliver smiles this holiday season by hiring more than 10,000 seasonal employees to work in gift assembly and customer service roles.
United Parcel Services (UPS) has nearly 10,000 seasonal warehouse, customer service, and package handler jobs to fill. If you are 17+ you can work as a package handler and customer service representative. If you are 21 years old and have a driver’s license, you can apply to be a delivery driver. In addition to seasonal (temporary) roles, there are permanent roles as well.
Walmart is looking for thousands of warehouse associates this holiday season. To incentivize workers to join their team, Walmart is rolling out an amazing holiday season pay increase to all of their associates (employees), where they can earn up to $8 more per hour from now until November 1, 2021. Additionally, there may be an opportunity to convert to a permanent employee at the end of the holiday season.
