Companies That Have Jobs For 14 & 15-Year-Olds

Last updated November 2, 2023

Are you 14 or 15 years-old and looking for a job? Check out these companies and jobs that hire at 14 and 15 years old. Employment laws vary by state, which means some companies may have jobs for 14 year-olds and jobs for 15 year-olds in some states, but may not in other states. Keep this in mind as you review the list below. Check out our resource for things you need to know before you apply first!

AMC

Who loves going to the movie theater? AMC is another cool place that hires at 14 and 15. The opportunities include selling tickets, concessions, and maintenance around the theater. Contact your local AMC theater and ask for the manager to see if your state and AMC hire at 14 and 15. If you have a local, independent theater near you they may also be willing to hire you so be sure to go ask (and see a movie!).

Baskin Robbins

If you love cake and ice cream, Baskin Robbins might be a good fit. Look for team member, ice cream scooper, and cake decorator positions.

Baby Sitter

Families do look for extra support to watch their children. Please reach out to your network to let them know that you are open to watching kids. Families are also very interested in tutoring, taking the kids to the playground, or help dropping off and pick up. As you get more experience, you're able to ask for more hourly pay.

Chick-fil-A

With more than 2,000 stores across the US, Chick-fil-A may have an opportunity for you. Be sure to look for front of the house (FOH) team member positions (such as cashier or drive-thru) since minors aren't able to use hot equipment, such as grills and deep fryers.

Community Centers

Local community centers and parks & recreation have excellent job opportunities for 14 and 15-year-olds. The positions include front desk support, after-school youth support, program coordinators, coaches, tutoring, lifeguards, and more. Check out your community center or your city's website to find jobs for teens.

Dairy Queen

Whether you’re a fan of ice cream or chicken strips, DQ is there for lunch, dessert and maybe a job! With over 4,000 locations across the country you can expect to work as a cashier, restaurant cleaner or in food preparation.

Kroger

Kroger owns 29 different brands of grocery stores across 42 states and have several job opportunities for teens under the age of 16 such as: cashier, cart attendant, order pullers (for online grocery orders), bakery assistant, and floral assistant.

Local Amusement/Entertainment Venues

Is there any sort of state fair, local carnivals or amusement parks near you? Just like a huge amusement park like Six Flags, these kinds of places often hire teens for seasonal jobs, especially. Be sure to also check out bowling alleys and arcades!

Local Coffee Shop

Coffee is one of the highest demand items anywhere! Coffee shops are usually looking for extra help to handle the volume. The main job is being a barista, where you'll learn how to make good coffee on the espresso machine. The other aspects of the job are customer service, register, and cleaning/prepping the equipment. Coffee shops always have delicious bakery items too!

McDonald's

If you are interested in being a crew member at McDonald's, some locations hire at 14. There are three crew teams - the kitchen crew, counter crew, and maintenance crew. A nice benefit Mcdonald's has is their Archways to Opportunity Program supporting employees for college (4-year, community college or trade school). Crew members can have access to $2,500 a year for tuition. To qualify for tuition, crew members will have to be working for at least 90 days and 15 hours a week.

Publix

Publix is the largest grocery store in the US and prides itself on customer service. Some locations hire at 14 and 15 for cashiers, front service clerks (bagging support), and cart attendant positions. Do check out Publix's website to apply online.

Safeway

If you are interested in working at Safeway or Albertsons grocery stores, some locations hire at 14 for cashiers, courtesy clerks, and cart attendant positions.

Six Flags

If you’re lucky enough to live near a Six Flags amusement park in the 11 states they operate in, you might be able to find adventure as a visitor and employee! Some of these jobs may be seasonal - like working at a waterpark in the summer.

Stop & Shop

This East Coast grocery chain - with over 400 locations - hires youth as young as 15 years old. You’ll likely be working the floral, grocery, or bakery departments.

Taco Bell

If you are comfortable working a cash register and taking customer orders, then consider working at Taco Bell. With more than 7,000 locations, Taco Bell may be a great place to get your first job (they also have an awesome scholarship program for employees that can help you pay for college).

U-Haul

Do you want a job that you can work from home? Consider applying to U-Haul. They are one of the only companies that hires 14 year-olds for online customer service roles. If you are comfortable talking on the phone with customers and have excellent customer service, consider applying.

Winn Dixie

If you live in the southeast part of the United States you know this popular grocery chain! If you live in Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, Georgia, or Louisiana be sure to check with your local store to see if they hire 14 and 15 year-olds!

Giant Eagle

If you live in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Indiana, and Maryland, check with your local Giant Eagle Grocery store for opportunities. This grocery store chain is another place to work for 14 and 15-year-olds. There are hiring for cashiers, clerks, attendants, and check out.
