How Do EOC Tests Affect My Grades?

The impact of EOC test scores on your final grades will vary by your state or school district. While in some places, an EOC test might count for 15% of a 9th grader's final grade in a class, in others, it could be different. Similarly, for students in grades 10 through 12, this percentage might vary.

Is Passing EOC Tests Mandatory to Receive Credit for a Class?

Passing an EOC test isn’t always mandatory to pass a class. What’s most important is your overall grade. As long as your total grade for the class—including your score on the EOC test—is a D or better, you will generally receive credit for the class.

Are EOC Tests Required?

Yes, EOC tests are typically required, but there are exceptions. For instance, if you have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), you might be eligible for an exemption from an EOC test requirement. To understand specific rules and exemptions in your state or school district, talk to your school counselor.
