Alabama
Cash for College by Alabama Possible offers Alabamians free FAFSA help and support. Reach out by calling (205) 939-1408 or emailing [email protected].
Alaska
Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education (ACPE) offers free FAFSA support to students and families by hosting FAFSA Wednesdays every week from 3-6 pm over Zoom. If you are unable to make FAFSA Wednesdays, ACPE also offers individual FAFSA help. Click here to make an appointment.
Arizona
Benji, Arizona's virtual FAFSA assistant, can answer questions to help you complete and submit the FAFSA—both in English and Spanish. Text "Hi Benji" to (602) 786-8171 or use the chat bot on the website to begin.
Students can also sign up for one-on-one FAFSA assistance over Zoom (both in English and Spanish) from the Arizona FAFSA Coalition.
You can also check out College Ready AZ’s calendar of free in-person and virtual FAFSA events happening across the state.
Additionally, students can call the Arizona FAFSA Hotline, which is open Monday-Friday, 9 am-3pm. Call 1-833-AZFAFSA for assistance in English, and 1-833-MIFAFSA for assistance in Spanish.
Arkansas
ASLA College Planning Services has free resources and tips to support students as they save for and apply to college, as well as apply for federal and state financial aid and scholarships. Call (800) 443-6030 or email [email protected] if you have questions.
California
Cash for College California offers free virtual and in-person workshops across the state to help students and families complete their FAFSA, California Dream Act (CADAA), or Chafee Grant for Foster Youth applications. Workshops are held from October 1-June 30, annually.
Colorado
Colorado's Department of Higher Education offers free digital resources to help students and families complete the FAFSA and learn about scholarships and other forms of financial aid.
Connecticut
FAFSA Connecticut has information (both in English and Spanish) to help students learn more about the FAFSA, CSS Profile, and scholarships.
Delaware
Stand By Me's College Funding Project offers virtual StudentAid.gov account (FSA ID) creation and FAFSA completion workshops (both in English and Spanish). Secure your appointment(s) here.
Florida
Florida’s Department of Education has a webpage full of FAFSA completion information for students and families.
Georgia
Georgia Student Finance Commission offers in-person trainings, workshops, and information sessions across the state to help students and their families plan for college. Use their calendar to find a FAFSA completion or financial aid event near you. Additionally, they also offer free virtual FAFSA resources for students and parents.
Hawaii
College is Within Reach Hawaii will offer free FAFSA completion webinars to get step-by-step FAFSA assistance. These webinars will take place on Wednesdays from 6-7:30 pm until March 11, 2026.

Idaho
Next Steps Idaho has free digital resources that help students understand both how to complete the FAFSA and what happens after they submit it.
Illinois
Illinois Student Assistance Commission offers free financial aid presentations and StudentAid.gov account (FSA ID) creation workshops in English and Spanish across the state. Just enter your zip code to find an event near you! Additionally, you can get one-on-one assistance with college planning and financial aid from an ISACorps member in your area.
Indiana
Through Learn More Indiana, you can complete the FAFSA Affirmation Form, which will allow you to receive FAFSA help from an Indiana-based FAFSA professional.
Iowa
FAFSA Ready Iowa offers step-by-step FAFSA events over Zoom and one-on-one appointments in-person and over Zoom.
Kansas
Kansas Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators has an ultimate FAQ list to answer your FAFSA-related questions. You can also check out The Kansas Board of Regents’ FAFSA resources.
Kentucky
Use Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority’s (KHEAA) free FAFSA Completion Guide as you work on the FAFSA. Be sure to also check out KHEAA's YouTube channel, which posts informational videos about completing the FAFSA.
Louisiana
Register a free FAFSA session with a Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance (LOSFA) representative by scrolling down and clicking the yellow button that says “Register for a FAFSA or Financial Literacy Session.” If you are not at least 18 years old, you will need to submit a parental consent form.
Maine
The Finance Authority of Maine (FAME) will hold virtual FAFSA help sessions over Zoom on October 29, 2025 and November 20, 2025. Both begin at 6pm. If you want an individual help session, register here.
Maryland
Maryland's Higher Education Commission has a free video series on their YouTube channel walking students through financial aid and how to apply for it.
Massachusetts
MEFA (Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority) has a step-by-step guide to completing the FAFSA and lots of other financial aid resources. You can also register for FAFSA Day online events. If you need assistance, call (800) 449-6332 or email [email protected].
Michigan
MI Student Aid offers virtual FAFSA and financial aid application presentations to students and families. Register in advance.
Minnesota
Minnesota Goes to College offers Zoom sessions to help students and families create their StudentAid.gov accounts, complete the FAFSA, apply to college, and apply for scholarships.
If you can't attend an upcoming session, they provide presentation recordings and slides for free FAFSA help.
Mississippi
Book an appointment through Get2College to ask questions you have about planning and paying for college. Virtual appointments can be made through one of Get2College’s in-person locations or by calling (662) 349-2789 or (228) 875-4441.
Missouri
FAFSA Frenzy by Journey to College helps Missouri students complete the FAFSA every year. Scroll down to register for virtual office hours with one of five FAFSA Frenzy specialists or click here to find a public event near you.
Montana
The Montana University system has free resources to support students completing their FAFSA and weighing their college financial aid options. Additionally, Reach Higher Montana has lots of information to help students apply for the FAFSA and other forms of financial aid.
Nebraska
With EducationQuest Foundation, students can make virtual one-hour FAFSA help, general financial aid help, and college planning appointments. Services are also available in Spanish.
Nevada
Apply Nevada has a list of FAFSA-related FAQs to help students understand how to complete the form.
New Hampshire
Granite Edvance offers free in-person and virtual FAFSA completion appointments, as well as appointments to help students understand their financial aid options and award letters. If you need help, you can call (603) 227-5444 from 9am-5pm Monday through Friday or email [email protected].
New Jersey
New Jersey's Higher Education Student Assistance Authority will hold FAFSA completion webinars (both in English and Spanish) from October-December 2025 to help students complete the 26-27 FAFSA.
New Mexico
New Mexico Educational Assistance Foundation (NMEAF) will hold FAFSA Money Mondays, free virtual help sessions held with professionals from local universities to help students complete the FAFSA. They also offer other helpful resources, like a FAFSA completion guide in both English and Spanish. For additional information, email [email protected].
New York
The New York Higher Education Services Corporation has resources and events to help students complete their FAFSA.
North Carolina
College for North Carolina offers video resources to help students and families understand and complete the FAFSA. They also have an interactive map that helps you find a financial aid professional that can support FAFSA completion near you.
North Dakota
Bank of North Dakota has FAFSA completion resources for students—like FAFSA fast facts and a YouTube playlist with FAFSA help videos.
Ohio
Ohio Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators has tools that can help students and parents complete the FAFSA. Email any questions to [email protected].
Oklahoma
Startwithfafsa.org has a FAFSA FAQ page, a library of financial aid and FAFSA resources for students and parents, and direct-to-student assistance. If you need support, email [email protected] or call (866) 443-7420. If you need assistance in Spanish, call (800) 858-1840 or email [email protected]. If you live in Oklahoma City and need assistance in Spanish, call (405) 225-9239.
Oregon
Oregon Goes to College offers lots of financial aid information and resources for students, including what they need to know about completing the FAFSA.
Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency and Pennsylvania Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators hold free FAFSA completion events. Additionally, they hold virtual financial aid webinars to help you complete your application and understand your financial aid offer letter.
Rhode Island
The Rhode Island Student Loan Authority (RISLA) College Planning Center offers free videos, resources, and in-person appointments to help with FAFSA completion, the CSS Profile, and FSA ID creation. Both parents and students must be present. Must create an account to schedule an appointment.
South Carolina
The South Carolina Commission on Higher Education has financial aid resources, including a FAFSA Completion Toolkit.
South Dakota
Mapping Your Future has free resources on a variety of topics surrounding financial aid—creating your StudentAid.gov account, completing the FAFSA, finding scholarships, and more. They also offer free virtual financial aid event nights at select high schools across the state. Additionally, Dakota Dreams has FAFSA completion resources available to students.
Tennessee
College for TN offers free FAFSA events, videos, and webinars. You can reach out to an Outreach Specialist in your area (scroll down to THEC Outreach Team) if you have any questions or call 1-800-342-1663.
Texas

Keys to Success Utah has resources to help students understand the different ways they can pay for college.
Vermont
Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC) holds in-person and virtual FAFSA completion meetings.
Virginia
College Access Fairfax offers free workshops to high school seniors to learn more about paying for college and completing the FAFSA. Additionally, they have a library of resources on topics like scholarships, understanding your financial aid award letters, and more.
Washington
Students can talk with OtterBot, a free, 24/7 texting service that helps students in Washington navigate financial aid for college. Text “Hi Otter” to (360) 928-7281 to begin. Parents can also reach out to OtterBot by sending "Hi OtterBot" to (360) 634-0354.
West Virginia
College for West Virginia has FAFSA and financial aid information. Additionally, they offer in-person financial aid information sessions across the state.
Wisconsin

Wyoming
