The FAFSA is the first form necessary to apply for the majority of financial aid, including federal grants, state grants, and many scholarships. This includes the incredibly important Cal Grant. The FAFSA opens on October 1st for both first-time applicants and students renewing their status. The process is outlined for you below!

CSUDH also provides Financial Wellness Workshops  from now until the end of the semester! 

In addition to the information below, gather:

  • Parent's Social Security Number
  • Parent's Marriage Date
  • Forms of Supplemental Income (SNAP, TANF, Social Security)
