Tahlieah's #WeBelongInCollege Story

Last updated February 27, 2021

Tahlieah struggles with mental health issues related to trauma from her childhood and almost deferred her first semester. She is now the student body president of her university, and recently started opening up about her issues with her fellow students, highlighting the abundance of resources and support systems that others can utilize if they are struggling.

She believes talking about mental health is an important conversation for all students, particularly women of color. Tahlieah now knows she does belong in college, particularly as an example for others who struggle with the same issues.

Tahlieah was a recipient of a $1,000 #WeBelongInCollege Scholarship. Meet the other #WeBelongInCollege Scholarship Winners!
