Jenniffer's #WeBelongInCollege Story

Last updated February 28, 2021

Jenniffer is a first generation, non-traditional student who got to college against the odds of domestic abuse and bullying at the age of 16. In a graduate program for engineering, Jenniffer faced doubts as a Hispanic woman in STEM and feeling like she didn’t belong.

Needing to balance two jobs, Jenniffer had to work on time management skills and found support through school services. She reminds students that “although the road isn’t always easy, that doesn’t mean it’s not worth it.”

Jenniffer was a recipient of a $1,000 #WeBelongInCollege Scholarship. Meet the other #WeBelongInCollege Scholarship Winners!
