For students living in Texas, free money for college is available in many ways! Did you know there are many Texas Promise Programs to help you cover the cost of tuition, fees, and books at participating community colleges and some 4-year schools in Texas? Take a look at the requirements to participate in each program. I PROMISE, this might just be the most helpful thing you read all day!

AlamoPROMISE

• Available to incoming freshmen from Texas who attend a participating high school
• Covers 100% of tuition costs to earn a certificate or associate’s degree at one of the five Alamo Colleges
• College application, Promise pledge form and FAFSA/TASFA must be submitted by the February 28, 2023 deadline.

UTSA - University of Texas at San Antonio Bold Promise

• Available to incoming freshmen from Texas
• Covers 100% of tuition costs for eight fall/spring semesters
• Family income must be no greater than $50,500 per year to qualify
• To be an eligible student must be a Texas resident and rank in the top 25% of the graduation class
• College application and FAFSA/TASFA must be submitted by the Jan 15th priority deadline

Dallas County Promise

• Available to incoming freshmen from Texas who attend a participating high school
• Covers 100% of tuition costs to earn a certificate, associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree at one of the Partner Colleges
• Complete the Promise Path Form by your colleges' deadline from Jan 15, 2023, to March 1, 2023 (details here) 
• College application and FAFSA/TASFA must be submitted 

Texas State University Bobcat Promise

• Available to incoming freshmen from Texas
• Covers 100% of tuition costs for eight fall/spring semesters
• Family income must be no greater than $50,000 per year to qualify
• College application and FAFSA/TASFA must be submitted by the Mar 15th deadline

Harris County Promise

• Available to incoming freshmen from Texas who attend a participating high school
• Covers 100% of tuition costs for up to 3 years and provides textbook assistance
• Submit the Harris County Promise non-binding pledge form by Feb 5th deadline
• College application and FAFSA must be submitted by the Mar 5th deadline
