Scholarships are a great way to pay for college! If you are going to college in Texas we have compiled a great list of scholarships you may be eligible for (and don’t have to pay back!). Some of these scholarships require a separate application while others only ask you to file the FAFSA or TASFA so make sure to get that done ASAP! Need help? Austin Alliance for Women in Media Scholarship

  • Deadline: March 7, 2022 at 5PM
  • Amount: $5,000
  • Available to students who have completed 60+ hours of college coursework by December 2021
  • Must not have graduated before January 2022
  • Must have an overall GPA of 3.25 or higher
  • Must be enrolled as a full-time college student with a declared major in radio, television, film, journalism, etc. and intend to pursue a career in media

Flip Foundation Scholarship

  • Deadline: March 1, 2022
  • Amount: Varies
  • Available to high school seniors/college students from the North Texas area
  • Must have above a 2.5 GPA
  • Must submit a project based on individual talent (writing, singing, video, etc.)
  • Must be a U.S. citizen

Susan Howard Community Service Award

  • Deadline: March 31, 2022
  • Amount: $5,000
  • Available to low-income students in Texas who have "demonstrated initiative and leadership skills through their dedication to benefitting their community"
  • Applicants must be working on a community service project or have done so within the past 12 months
  • Applicants must show proof of financial need

Daniel Stark Law Extraordinary Scholarship

  • Deadline: April 30, 2022
  • Amount: $1,000
  • Available to high school students who "have proven that they are driven to achieve extraordinary results in life, regardless of their grades, test scores, backgrounds, or attributes."
  • Scholarship requires completed application

ElectricityPlans Energize Your Education Scholarship

  • Deadline: May 1, 2022
  • Amount: $500
  • Must be a higher school senior planning to attend a 2 or 4-year university after graduating
  • Must have a minimum of a 3.2 GPA

Foundation 649 Scholarship

  • Deadline: March 1, 2022
  • Amount: $4,000 over 4 years
  • Available to students that identify as Asian American and/or Pacific Islander
  • Applicants must be enrolled in or attending an accredited university by Fall 2022.

Texas School Counselor Association Molly Gerold Scholarships

  • Deadline: May 2, 2021
  • Amount: between $500 and $2,000
  • Available to students whose parents, grandparents, or school counselors are members of the TSCA
  • Must provide SAT/ACT scores, transcripts, and 500-word essay to apply

Texas Urban Scholarship Fund

  • Deadline: July 12, 2021
  • Amount: between $700 and $2,000
  • Available to Texas high school seniors from 42 specific cities
  • Must complete the FAFSA by March 1st

Amarillo Area Foundation Scholarships

  • Award amount varies
  • The Foundation offers a variety of scholarships for different colleges, fields of study, and county of residence
  • Available to high school seniors and college students enrolled in the Texas Panhandle region

ExxonMobil Engineering Scholarship

  • One national scholarship of $20,000 and twelve $2,000 local scholarships
  • Available to Hispanic high school seniors who plan to pursue an engineering degree
  • Only available in selected cities and surrounding areas

Texas Advance Commitment

  • Scholarship award up to full tuition coverage depending on family income
  • Available to Texas residents pursuing their first bachelor’s degree
  • Complete the FAFSA or TASFA to apply
