4 Tips To Explore A College City

Last updated June 4, 2020

You may be moving to a new city for college or wanting to know your city more. Here are tips to help you become a local expert:

Google maps is your friend.

You can view reviews within the app and view popular spots around the city. It's also great for navigation because you can save maps to your phone so you don't need an internet connection.

Hop onto social media.

Check out your school's Instagram or Facebook for posted events. Also, look at local accounts on Instagram to find out what's popular, or to find those hidden gems through hashtags. Try searching on YouTube for travel vloggers.

Is there a local newspaper or website?

Do a quick Google search, "Local things to do in + [city name]" or variations of "cheap things to do", or "what locals do in..." Try different variations and see what articles come up!
