Nancy's #WeBelongInCollege Story

Last updated February 27, 2021

Nancy felt discouraged about her education after learning she had a learning disability. She dropped out of school and found herself in a dead-end job. Years later, she realized it was time to go to college despite her reservations about managing the time and being an older student.

After starting at a community college, she became curious about her learning disability and was tested to learn she had been misdiagnosed. Learning the truth freed Nancy from that stigma and propelled her through her associates degree and into a four-year university. Despite her age, setbacks, and working full time, she’s maintained her grades and sees clearly that she belongs in college.

Nancy was a recipient of a $1,000 #WeBelongInCollege Scholarship. Meet the other #WeBelongInCollege Scholarship Winners!
