Kaleab's #WeBelongInCollege Story
Last updated February 28, 2021
During his sophomore year of college, Kaleab’s classes got harder and his grades plummeted. Feeling discouraged, Kaleab questioned if college was for him. He reflected on his immigration to the U.S., his career goals, and making his parents proud. Getting an education was something his parents weren’t afforded, and this motivated him to change his mindset.
He started attending his classes, completing the assignments, and asking for help. After a while, he was able to recover his GPA and now plans to graduate next year with a degree in civil engineering. Kaleab believes being goal oriented gave him an edge and all students should set goals and never stop till they reach them.
Kaleab was a recipient of a $1,000 #WeBelongInCollege Scholarship. Meet the other #WeBelongInCollege Scholarship Winners!
