Ricardo's #WeBelongInCollege Story

Last updated February 28, 2021

During his first semester in college, Ricardo struggled with his academics. His classmates thought the material was easy, however, for Ricardo, his continued challenges led him to feel dull-witted. Being in a new environment, he was also lonely and didn’t have any real friends.

Although he received a low GPA and was put on academic probation, Richardo still had a goal of becoming an engineer and started to take action. In Ricardo’s story, he shares that he’s doing much better now and encourages others to ‘not give up on goals when having a hard time, but to change the strategy you’re using to get to those goals.’

Ricardo was a recipient of a $1,000 #WeBelongInCollege Scholarship. Meet the other #WeBelongInCollege Scholarship Winners!
