Last updated October 18, 2020

Studying can be a hassle, but it doesn't have to be! All you have to do is find the right study method that works for you. Don't know where to begin? Check out these awesome tips!

1. Before Class

Read your assigned readings before you get to class! Explain concepts and ideas in your own words. Highlight important information, definitions, and ideas. Remember to write down questions you have for your teacher/professor.

2. In Class

Take notes and use short hand abbreviations to help you write faster. Based on your prep work the day before, add comments from the class discussion.

3. After Class

Make a study guide and condense your notes using your own words. Transform important info into other forms to review (tables, illustrations, etc).

4. Review

Take the time to review your study guide for 30 minutes every day. This will help you retain information. Make sure to quiz yourself and make it fun with flashcards and classmates!

5. Prep for Exams

Pencil in your test dates into your calendar/planner. Decide what, when and how you will study each day and block out the time to study. Stick to your plan. Studying over days instead of cramming will be better in the long run.
