3 Ways To Explore Mental Health At CSUDH
Last updated January 24, 2021
When was the last time you took some time for yourself? It's important to make sure you're not neglecting your mental health. Here are 3 ways to explore your mental health resources:
Free mental health services on campus
As a student at CSUDH, you have access to free mental health services at the Student Health and Psychological Services Center. Drop by for a visit to learn more about your mental health. You can get counseling if you need to talk through any struggles you're having with adjusting to college, managing family relations, or even coping with more serious challenges.
Stress can hit you at any time. The Health and Psychological Services Center has a drop in mental health support group on Thursdays from 3:30-4:30. Stop in to interact with other students who probably feel the same way you do.
You're not the only one on campus feeling a little stressed.
Check out the CSUDH Toro Link events page and see if there are any events related to mental health. Things are added all the time and you just might find the perfect event to address what you're feeling and experiencing right now. One to be aware of is the Mindful Based Stress Reduction sessions that take place every Monday from 10am - 11am. Make a plan to drop in for some self care.
Do not let stress and student burnout get the best of you.
If you notice that you are starting to feel overwhelmed, take a deep breath and then check out the CSUDH's Division of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs' mental health resource guide for students. It has an awesome list of important phone numbers and websites. It's a great PDF you can print or save to your computer. If you're on your phone, do a screen grab so you can have it for reference on the go!
