The Get Schooled Foundation has partnered with television's #1 daily music show and top-rated pop culture hub, BET's 106 & Park, to present the 106 & Park Get Schooled Award to R&B music sensation Keri Hilson.
She accepted the award last night in front of a live studio audience. Watch Keri accept the award on the show! Keri Hilson joins NBA superstars Dwayne Wade and Dwight Howard in earning this recognition.
Keri Hilson is one of today’s hottest R&B singers and continues to lend her star power to the Get Schooled Foundation as a celebrity Education Ambassador. She has toured the nation visiting high schools to stress the importance of education and speaks to thousands of students about their studies and the importance of finishing high school.
“I think the key to making it through high school and life in general is knowing what’s important, attacking that, and executing everything,” said Hilson, a graduate of Emory University in Atlanta.

The 106 & Park Get Schooled award recognizes artists, actors and athletes that have demonstrated significant commitment to helping inspiring and supporting young people to stay in school and earn a degree.
Past winners include NBA superstars Miami Heat’s Dwayne Wade and Orlando Magic’s Dwight Howard.
Dwayne Wade accepted the award on September 29 on behalf of The Wade Foundation. The Wade’s World Foundation provides support to community-based organizations that promote education, health and social skills for children in at-risk situations. Wade was inspired to start the foundation because he wanted to give back to underserved communities and support issues of purpose. Throughout the year, the foundation hosts a week of summer camps for kids with activities to identify their talents, provides resources and grants for underprivileged kids and gives books and school supplies to underprivileged schools across the country.
Dwight Howard accepted the award on October 5. He is recognized as an international ambassador for today’s NBA. Off-court he consistently tours the globe in efforts to lengthen the League’s charitable reach by visiting children’s hospitals or promoting literacy via the NBA’s “Read To Achieve” program. In an effort to help at-risk youth around the world, Howard launched the Dwight Howard Fund (DHF) in April 2010. DHF began its work by targeting youths in Haiti that were victims in the 2010 earthquake and supported programs that use sport and recreation to help kids overcome the trauma of the earthquake, while promoting education. Placing smiles on the faces of today’s youth while empowering them to reach for the stars is a constant part of Howard’s life. Despite a busy schedule, he remains passionate and committed to providing his time and face to organizations, such as the Big Brothers Big Sisters, where he recently became National Ambassador.
